Don't know if I can use the real brandname Luvox I have left over from the last time I used it. 2003 is listed as the expiration date on the bottle. But I've heard that they last much longer. I used to take high doses of it and then when I couldn't tolerate it any longer was down to 12.5mg. The pdoc ordered 25mg once a day. I had a choice of prozac also. I chose Luvox because of my OCD [rituals, and counting]. Pdoc said prozac also helped OCD. I didn't know this. What do you think? I'm kind of afraid to try it again. Especially when she said "well maybe you're depressed". I don't know if she meant she didn't think I was depressed. She kept bringing up anxiety. I'm totally confused by meds at this point. Any help with all or part of above would be appreciated. Thanks, Phillipa

Start taking it tonight and see what happens. You have to at least give it a go. The dosage is so small too. I hope it helps with sleep.
Let us know how it goes.
Did you tell your Dr. the pills were from 2003? I wouldn't worry about it. The problem might be that they are less effective. You shall soon find out.

Maxime, That's what I thought. But I took the 25mg of zoloft this morning. Should I wait a day? I know it's a low dose. Fondly, Phillipa

Phillipa,My pdoc has always had me gradually reduce the dose of the AD I'm on while adding the new one. So I'd be on two at once for a few weeks. I'd guess it would be okay to go ahead and start the Luvox tonight if you plan to take it at night. especially since it's a low dose of both of them.
I hope so much this works for you. (Prozac gave me insomnia).

Let me know how the Luvox works for you. I tried it for a short time a year ago and my new pdoc wasn't familiar with it and ask me to try something different. I was only on it a couple of weeks , so I didn't get a true read on it.
I have a full bottle of 50mg pills still and thinking about trying it again.

Ed, So what do I do? Take 50mg tonight? Or is the Rx no good. Everyone here says it's supposed to be so sedating. I took up to 250mg the first time with 4=5mg ativan and chloral hydrate. I must be med resistant! Fondly, PJ O

I think you should stay at 25mg for a few days first :-) If you feel ok, you could then increase to 50mg.
