effexor vs. zoloft

I am now taking 150 mg of effexor for GAD, panic, & depression, yet I feel it does not help the anxiety, my doctor gave the option of going to 300 mg. of effexor, yet what are the side effects at that dosage, anyone know? Pls input. Also would zoloft be better for panic & depression. I am also finding weight gain as a side effect, is there anything out there to take that won't cause this. It makes the depression worse. HELP. Thanks.
