Dave, I'm taking Effexor-X at 225 mg/day (started at 37.5 mg/day, then gradually increased) for obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression. It's really helped keep my mind clearer, has elevated my mood a bit, and has helped somewhat with the obsessions and compulsions. It doesn't decrease my social anxiety however. I always make sure I eat something when I take it (after learning the hard way with Serzone in the past...I got nauseous taking it on an empty stomach).--Cindy W
