> DaveHi Dave,
I've been on Effexor XR for 6 mos for anxiety. Panic attacks brought me to the doctor's office and doc prescribed the Effexor. It has helped me tremendously by allowing me to focus. It has elevated my mood by giving me a sense that I am in control of my life and I rarely loose my temper (a big problem for me since early teen-hood). It has helped me control my social anxiety and I'm almost to the point where being with people is enjoyable. I can talk to people without my heart speeding up and I don't feel as self-consious. In the beginning I also felt nauseated to the point where I wasn't eating. That only lasted a few weeks and my appetite is back to normal. I feel wonderful--almost normal. Stick with it and give it a fair chance.
