My favorite drug info site is www.rxlist.com. Apparently, the wash-out period is needed because both drugs are metabolized in the liver by the same P450 cytochrome, DII6. Heaven knows, getting rid of Paxil is a big enough problem without adding in a substance that will delay its elimination. I believe ALL SSRI's should come with prominent warning labels re withdrawal symptoms.
