Paul,
I think your pdoc's actions were inexcusable. Luckily, my pdoc has never gone so far as to refuse to refill a scrip for me (I take Xanax now, but am considering Klonopin in the future), but it wouldn't surprise me if my pdoc tried that in the future since he is also hostile about my internet research. Occasionally I'll ask him about a drug and he'll sarcastically reply that since I know more about meds than he does, why can't I answer my own question. My pdoc now thinks I have OCD simply because I research the net. I have none of the symptoms of OCD, except that it irritates him that I have a need to learn and to understand. Why does knowledge intimdiate some pdocs? IMHO, only an insecure and uniformed mental professional would feel threatened and intimidated by patients who search for answers.
