Hi Cam,
You seem to be the one that knows alot about Zyprexa so I thought I'd post you these questions.
I have been on it before as think I told you before, but for some reason went off it, not sure whether it was due to side effects or not now. Maybe I was afraid to continue with it after the horrible ones I had from risperdal (dystonia), not sure of the spelling.
Anyway, this-morning I had this really great guy from the health team come out and he has put me back on zyprexa as well as keeping on the 1,000 per day lithium. The zyprexa dose is 10mg per day.
Can you tell me what I have to expect from the zyprexa or the combination of the two?
If it is going to help me all the better. It seems alot of people are on it so it must be O.K. Did I read right that in the first week, it can give you EPS or TD? If that is so, one week isn't long considering how much in the long term it will help.
He also got straight into the root of my problems and why I possibly developed this illness, post traumatic shock syndrome, gosh, stuff that goes way, way back that I hadn't even thought about, so he is referring me to the special treatment clinic (sounds great) and hopefully my life will start to get back on track and I'll learn how to live with the illness and deal with all the other stuff and "clean the closet out".
So I am feeling a little more positive at the moment. I can't say it will be easy once therapy begins but for now, it's better.
