YES! Other people who hate the summer too! It's funny, because in the dead of winter, I imagine how great it will be to be able to walk around my neighborhood without wearing boots, a hat, gloves, etc. The first warm days are joyous. But, really, I can't stand being hot, or being around a million other hot people, especially those who insist on wearing all those strappy halter tops. I am so much more comfortable staying home with my air conditioner and reading or zoning out to TV. Sure, I enjoy a nice summer vacation in a desolated area wiht just my family, but besides that, I really dislike summer. At least this one. I can not WAIT for jacket season to begin. I hate wearing shorts. And being a sweatball by the time I get to work. And yes, according to the media, the summer is supposed to be the best thing EVER!
Though I know when it's winter again, I will be dreaming of summer. Maybe I'm just the type who is never satisfied.
I'm glad to hear of others who hate summer. But I'm sad to hear of marital problems and anxiety about spending time with the children. I do think it's important not to think about other people when you're with your children. They're only thinking of how great it is to be with you. Here's to a quick end of summer, and a quick pop can bee season, yet another of my "irrational" fears. Laura
