Hi Cherrie, maybe you have not been on these long enough for your body to adjust? I needed to go on something after a Post Traumatic syndrome almost ate me up after brewing for 5 years. I am a paramedic, after 15 years service - you think your bullet proof then one day comes a response that ruins your life. Anyway after trying effexor which I found horrible getting on and getting off. I then went on Celexa, It seemed not near as harsh - quick tolerance period. I have taken them for 1 year.
They dragged me out of the mud, I had no real side effects other than gaining 30 pounds over the year. I have discontinued them 2 weeks ago, you feel lousy for about 10 days, I just slept it off, took two weeks off work. Withdrwals are over,no depression, I have already lost 5 pounds. I feel like I can start where I left off before "the call" that started this.
I hope it works as well for you as me, I was only on 20mg daily. But it seem that if you are going to gain weight from an antidepresant it will happen even if you tape your mouth shut. The good news thats minor details if it helps. the weight will come off when you stop .
Good Luck ......Dave
