Sigolene and Natg,

I can definately empathize with your struggles as I have been there, done that. I'm sure everybody else on the board can too.

As to whether to continue your meds, that's hard for me to say since I am not a medical professional. Personally, when I have felt alot worse on meds, I haven't continued with them, especially, if I see no signs that they are going to help. The reason why I continue to stay with the Prozac that has caused me alot of problems is it has shown signs that it can be very helpful.

Other people on this board who are very intelligent and have well thought out opinions would tell you to stick with it because the side effects do disappear. Interestingly, my psychiatrist said that those people who do the best on medication respond pretty quickly. But then again, he was the same person who said nasty side effects can disappear so go figure.

Forgive me if you've mentioned this already but what types of drugs have worked the best for you?
When I decided to switch from Zoloft because of weight gain, I felt that since it had worked very well for quite awhile, along with Adderall, I thought that my best bet would be Prozac. While it definately hasn't been a panacea, I don't think I'm too far off track.

If you decide that you want to switch from Wellbutrin, and drugs like the SSRI's and SSNI's like Effexor haven't worked, maybe it's time to look at Mood Stabalizers like Lithium. Also, if you got a partial response on an SSRI or SSNI, aumentation with a stimulant, lithium, and naltraxone (sp?) has worked for people.

Anyway, please keep in mind that I am not a doctor
and was attempting to summarize the helpful posts that I have seen on this board. Hopefully, I have given you some things to think about that will facilitate your decision as to whether to continue with the Wellbutrin.

Shirley

PS-I tried Wellbutrin for about 3 days and hated it.
