Jesse - Using both Paxil & SJW has caused serotonin syndrome, in some people (anxiety, heart palpitations, sweating, etc.) due to excess serotonin in the body. You may have had a mild case of this.

Another explanation could be additive effects of the side effects of both of these medications due to interactions at other neuroreceptor sites (eg. the norepinephrine reuptake site). With the number of active compounds in SJW (some known, most not) it would be difficult to guess what other receptors would be involved.

Both of these are guesses, but both can (and have) happened. Hope this helps - Cam
