> Thanks for the response. No, I didn't take this drug while I was pregnant, I just started taking it about 6 weeks ago. My baby is 7.5 months old now. I had been on Zoloft for depression for about a year and a half before I got pregnant. I didn't take anything while I was pregnant and tried not taking anything for awhile after the baby was born but found that postpartum my depression seemed worse(I know this is common). Why did your doctor not want you to b-feed and take EffexorXR? I don't know if I should stop taking the drug or maybe try something else. I've tried Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft but nothing seems to help for an extended period. I was getting migraines when I restarted Zoloft for a short period after the baby was born. A friend recommended EffexorXR so I decided to try it. I am not sure if it is helping, I have good days and bad days. My main concern now is the baby, and I don't want to hurt him in any way. But if this drug helps me and poses no threat to the baby, I don't want to stop needlessly. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
my derealization started after my second son was born.. so i understand all too well what you are goin through i breast fed my 1st son for 18 months and he never had a bottle or formula... I was sure everyone else was missing out on somthing if they didnt breast feed and the children were too.. was I wrong I think they both are great ideas and my now 1yr old was only breast fed for 3wk .. I had severe insomnia and wouldnt sleep at all somtimes and had to take xanax for my nerves and sleep now I am glad if I had gone on that way I would have lost it... but he is actually an easier healthier child than my breastfed baby... also the meds the docs wanted me on were scary i had never heard of them (effexor) then and am scared of side effects after all who wants more symptoms :0) if your doc says you can go for it! my doc didn't know as much about breastfeeding probably ... take care and let me know if you ever need someone to listen. If i were brave enough to take meds I would and they would probably help so if you can by all means research then take em! HOPE B
