Hi Jacquie,
Well, I'm kind of new to being on Wellbutrin alone. It has always been used with other meds to help offset the fatigue (I've taken it with Zoloft, and then with Effexor.)

I am now tapering off the Effexor and I'm almost done with it ... I have been feeling much more focused and energetic. I think the Wellbutrin gives me that extra "edge ... " When I started taking it, I noticed that I had a bit more endurance than without it, and was able to focus better. It did seem keep the depression "at bay" as well. I'm noticing these things a lot more without the Effexor.

Yes, I do still have my blue moments. Just the other day, I was feeling very down -- my 16-month old daughter had been sick for several days, and I kind of lost it ... At one point when she wouldn't stop crying, I just sat down and started crying with her! (Some support I was.) I wasn't sure if my depression that day was typical for a mom with a sick child, or part of my whole "chemical imbalance."

Anyway, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say I'm at about a 6 (when I was on Effexor I was at about a 3.) I am going to wait until the Effexor is totally out of my system to see if I feel any better; if not, I may try adding St. John's Wort since the SSRIs have such bad side effects for me. I don't expect to get to a 10, but an 8 or 9 would sure be nice.

Sorry if I rambled on here ... hope I answered your questions somewhere in this novel!

Take care,
cindy
