Sorry, this whole thing doesn't add up. The symptoms of depression do not match those of chronic mercury poisoning. You don't see the profound neuropathy or degradation of gum tissue. Mercury poisoning was common enough because of occupational exposure until early in this century that we have a pretty good understanding of the syndrome.
We know that Huggins used fraudulant methods to support his theory, diagnosed patients as having mercury poisoning even if they had no amalgam fillings, and his dental license was revoked in 1996. This makes me very wary of believing anything he has to say, especially when it is contrary to the evidence of numerous studies.
I general, I am deeply skeptical of any claim that there is a single cause of a wide range of vague, chronic, seemingly unrelated symptoms.
