Re: Switching from Zoloft to Celexa

I have taken Celexa for about 18 months. I have not had any weight gain. But I did have sexual side effects (although not as bad as with Prozac). Sexual side effects are common with all SSRI's including Celexa. A few months a go I added Ginkgo to help with sexual side effects and it has helped a lot. The medical article said to take 240 mg per day (120 twice a day) to help with SSRI induced sexual dysfunction. I take about half that amount with good results. Ginkgo is an anticoagulant so you need to be cautious about bleeding problems.

On the whole, despite the problems with weight gain and a lessening of libido, its been a godsend. Recently, however, I asked my pyschiatrist if I could try something else -- preferably something that will help me feel as good as I do on Zoloft, but address the weight gain/libido issues. She suggested that I try Celexa. Anyone have any stories they could share?
