effexor xr for tamoxifen

Hope someone could help me. I have suffered from depression off & on for years now. Every time I get on something I get off it right away. Either I don't like the side effects or can't deal with the stigma. My brother has severe depression and I always hear myfamily put him down. I will not tell them I suffer from it too. I was prescribed effexor xr to help with the side effects of tamoxifen. Supposed to help with hot flashes. Anyone hear anything?
