Lex-
From reading other people's posts at this site, it sounds like a lot of the nightmarish withdrawal scenarios come from quitting Effexor cold-turkey. Either way, 75mg is a relatively low dose according to the makers of Effexor, but it's generally a bad idea to change the amount of medication you take without first consulting the doctor who prescribed it.PT
> Hi I started Effexor XR 7 days ago at 37.5 mgs. As soon as I started I felt a noticible difference...not irritable, happier, calmer. I love it. Im supposed to double the dosage after 7 days to 75 mg. but I really dont want to because I've been reading of the horrific withdrawals from it and figure the less, the better. Is it ok to stay on the 37.5 mgs if I feel good and will I have those horrific withdrawals once I DO go off? (and how WOULD I decrease the 37.5 dosage? Im taking capsules so I cant cut them in half.)
