Manerix is a reversible MAO-A inhibitor.
It does not have dietary restrictions by itself.
Selegiline is a MAO-B inhibitor at the
lower doses, and MAO-A at the higher dose,
but it has the dietary restrictions.
I wanted to see if I could get away with as
little Selegiline as possible, but I pretty
much needed 60 mg to get the full effect.I found that I needed a healthy dose of
both to get this to work. I had more Manerix
on hand, so I had to budget the Selegiline.I could probably have swapped the 2 out for
Parnate.I think I've heard of someone else combining
Parnate with a NRI. (was it SLS?).Reboxetine is supposed to help prevent
a hypertensive crisis on a MAOI and is actually
a safner from what I read. But I don't know
if that is true with the alpha-2 antagonist
from Remeron in there. When the MAOI inhibitor causes more amine
to be released, or a reuptake inhibitor
is leaving more amine in the synaptic cleft,
normally it would hit the alpha-2 feedback
receptor which I believe would
decreased the tyrosine hydroxylase in the
presynaptic neuron (the rate limiting enzyme
to produce dopamine or noradrenaline). With
the alpha-2 antagonist, the reuptake inhibitor,
and MAOI inhibitor, its pretty much balls to
the wall on output. But I think it could be
toxic and dangerous.-john
