In reply to On klonopin now, how to do with parties/alcohol?, posted by tensor on December 2, 2001, at 15:02:50
Ok, depending on your dose, it shouldn't really be a problem. I take 1 mg a day. YOu know how things are nowadays, everyone is so cautious and afraid of getting sued, so of course your doc and Roche are going to to tell you not to drink on it. From my experience, as a BIG drinker and drug user, klonopin is the least of your worries. Basically, you just have a head start on other people; the klonopin puts you about 3 or 4 beers ahead of everyone else. In other words, you drink one beer, you'll feel like you've already had several more.
Withdrawal symptoms, on the other hand, are no f-ing joke. You must taper off ssssllooowwwlllyy. Common withdrawal symptoms: flu-like symptoms, numbness/tingling of different parts of your body, tremors, too many thoughts at once, very mild psychotic symptoms (paranoia, fear, illusions).
