Celexa Withdrawal after 6 weeks. HELP!

Posted by Co on March 27, 2002, at 9:29:10

Hi All...

after reading so many messages about Celexa withdrawal, I have decided to discontinue it now.

I was on 20 mg for 2 weeks, and 40 mg for what will be 4 weeks tomorrow. So it's been 2 days shy of 6 weeks total.

Am I likely to experience the same symptoms as someone that has been on for a longer period of time? I plan on cutting my dose to 30 mg tonight and take that for a week, then 20 for a week, then 10 for a week then 5 mg for a week. Does anyone think this is a good taper schedule?

I don't want to go through the hell that has been described by others that have been on this medication for longer time periods. I think I am lucky to have found out about the withdrawal so early into my treatment. Hopefully I won't have too much difficulty getting off of the medication.

Please give me whatever advice or info you can. I am pretty scared.

I wish the best for all of you.

C
