In reply to What is the Most Sedating Dose of Remeron?, posted by fachad on April 6, 2002, at 21:51:17
Fachad,
At one point, I was up to 90mg Remeron, taken at 15mg divided daily doses;I was able to function without too much lethargy, and even managed to pass a few exams whilst dosed up at this level.
Personally, I don't subscribe to the 'it's less sedating at higher doses' theory at all.I think that coincidentally, by the time one has titrated to a higher dose, the body has just had ample time to adapt to the sedating effects, which probably would have worn off with time, regardless of dose increases.I speak from personal experience here, because I took this med. for around 9 or 10 months. The first month was spent in a lethargic stupor at 15mg, but I'd become used to its effects by week 5, and hardly felt any daytime sedation at all, continuing through week 7 or 8, when I moved up to 30mg, and 45 a month later etc.Col.
