Nope, not from Oz but a Canuke. It's funny as I just had a conversation with y doc & he said he's even diagnosed schizophrenia in one patient. He says almost 50% of his practice is related to mental & emotional disorders. Hard to figure out disorders, or resistant to treatment always get referred to a pdoc, but he says that many times a family doc can do more of a "whole person" treatment as the doc normally treats the rest of the family so knows what the situation is like. He said that patients feel comfortable telling him what's really bothering them. Sometimes a problem can be more a situation in the home rather than a disorder in the person. Whereas people still feel leery of going to a pdoc, they don't mind being treated by a family doc & will admit problems easier to him. He's sure a lot saner than many pdocs I've seen.
I was just curious about Nardil as almost everyone has said they've gained weight on MAO inhibitors & the more people I hear from, the more balanced the info will be. I'm glad to hear the weight gain has been minimal though.
Currently, the combo I'm on is doing great. No problems with GAD, SP, or OCD. I have plain depression & SAD as it always has gotten very bad in winter, but not this winter since I've been using Provigil. You & bluedog are at opposite ends of the country. I hear it was a very bad summer with fires in Sydney. I love to keep up with all the international news.
Spring is starting here & it's only going to get better from now on. I live in a diff area than most of Canada. We only had snow for a day or two around Christmas. We can grow bananas here (but the fruit generally doesn't get a chance to ripen on them), though some winters, they need protection. Canada isn't all snow & ice!
