My 1 mg dose seems to last about 12 hrs. Taking it before bed didn't work, because it wore off by the middle of the next day. So, I tried divided doses 4X/day, then 2X/day, for a short while, and that was OK. The sedation etc. wore after a couple of weeks, and now I just take the full 1 mg first thing every morning, with no side effects.
I take 0.25-0.50 mg Xanax as well if things are really stressful, but this is pretty sporadic -- maybe once or twice a week on average. It adds to the anxiety relief, and mixes well with K, again with no discernable side effects.
