The reasons I use that phrase are: a) the bigger the meal, the less likelihood of "rancid fish burps" (which totally suck); b) the presence of other fats in the meal help stimulate the secretion of substances into the gut, which emulsify and enhance uptake of the fats. A little fish oil in a meal that is mostly carbs may not be sufficient to signal the body to "invest" its precious chemicals (bile).

The whole good fats/bad fats thingie leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Ever notice that obesity has become much more common since the "reduce calories of fat" philosophy has been brain-washed into us?

Good fats (I know, this is radical)....butter. Red meat. Just stay away from anything that has "hydrogenated" anywhere in the ingredients list, particularly if it comes near the top.
