Hey, everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that I have been on the Abilify now for approximately a week and am doing much better in comparison to how I felt the first couple of days. After I made my initial post, I decided that I would take it the next day before going to bed. That way, if any of the feelings I had described came back, I'd already be in bed so it wouldn't matter *that* much.
So, the restlessness showed up the second night (as expected), but there weren't any real ill effects such as the 'ice pick' feeling that I had been witness to the previous day. With these new 'results', I continued taking my 10mg dosages every night before bed. I am *still* shakey though and that is something that I can't seem to shake <<pun intended>>. Someone here mentioned that it was like being on acid for them. I FULLY understand that! It *is* like being on LSD without the visual effects -- the Abilify feels like the strychnine (sp?) that the LSD releases into your blood stream during a trip.
For those of you who haven't taken LSD before, imagine shaking up a can of soda and not opening it right away. Imagine that you *are* that can of soda -- you have all of that energy locked up inside of you that you can't release. That's what it feels like to me anyhow. It's as though my CNS is working overtime, as if to overcompensate for something. <<shrugs>>
Anyhow, that's my update. Oh, to the person who asked about the Zyprexa (sorry for forgetting your name): It made me feel as bad if not a little worse than the Abilify (same family, right?). I wasn't ever able to get past the side effects of that one.
