I had tried all the ssri's and other new ones and they all eventually pooped out. I also did the combo thing (prozac and wellbutrin...with ritalin) (wellbutrin with effexor...with provigil) and everything pooped out. I've been on nardil for over four months and i recommend it. the diet restrictions are overrated. just be prepared for it to take several weeks to kick in. there's still the possibility that it could eventually poop out, too - but for now it's great.

I have also tried a few other things to augment the SSRIs like Provigil (and considered Geodon but decided against it) and a combo of two SSRIs. Prozac was the only thing that helped (for a whopping 10 years- I was lucky!) But now on my 8th SSRI, I am sick of the anhedonia and severe lack of energy so I am considering an MAOI for real this time. I have always been weary of them (a close relative is on one and has been for 15+ years) because of diet and potential blood-pressure problems. Anyone facing the same dilemna? If so, would you please post your concerns and or advice, I would really like to hear others thoughts on this.
