In reply to Depakote increasing anxiety?? Or Lex?, posted by lepus on March 1, 2004, at 0:51:53
Hi Lepus,
Myself and a few others have noticed that Lexapro isn't as effective right around the time of our periods. Just this weekend I had a panic attack (after a full month of no anxiety or panic) and it occured on the day my period started.
It could also be an increased amount of stress in your life. Have there been any recent changes in your life that could increase your anxiety and depression?
I'm surprised that the 2 mgs of Klonopin doesn't help with your anxiety. Is it possible that you've developed a tolerance for it? Maybe you should look in to an alternative to Klonopin.
Call your pdoc today. He might be able to recommend something...an increase in Lexapro, Klonopin or an additional med to try. Having to wait out bouts of depression and anxiety is a miserable experience. You can probably make the wait shorter by putting a call to your pdoc.
I really hope you feel better soon.
K.
