Your concerns are truly justified and your beating of cancer is a wonderful thing, but I can certainly understand how worry about it's return would happen. Toxic worry doesn't work well with good mental health and causes us to preceive things in a unrealistic way.. it's at least that's how it is for me.
These meds do take time to work and some of that "start up" time can be spent feeling weird and confused, but once that start up phase is over... new good ways of thought, action, and subsequently.... feelings can begin. The key is the right med and working with your doc to find that. There's nothing wrong with caring for yourself emotionally as well as you do for your physical self. I think it's all connected.
I just didn't want to see you scared off from using meds because of what you read here... after what you have been through, you deserve a great rest of your life and sometimes we need a little med help to get that.
Good Luck to you.
