I actually don't think I've ever asked questions while standing at the counter, but I have phoned various branches of a major drugstore many times to ask something I thought of later; or that relates to a med I want to look into. On the phone, I have had *great* responses from pharmacists, going into much detail and being willing to advise on just about anything. SO -- you might try phoning instead, to a busy, major chain. It can't hurt! Maybe it's primarily the anonymity (I've never been asked if I'm a customer), or some fluke tendency to focus more on a phone call than a customer trying to get by the pharmacy tech to whomever is least busy at the moment....
