When i was having what was first DX'd as 'panic attacks', Klonopin was of no assistance whatsoever, however the dose was increased, or the length of time i continued taking it.
When i was finally correctly DX'd as having PTSD induced 'terror episodes' and RX'd Xanax to be taken sublingually at the onset of an episode, was my therapy finally able to progress, and i was able to "get a grip".

Hope this helps. Panic OR terror episodes are not only disruptive and frightening, but can be terribly destructive to the body's chemical balances, and in the long run, devastating to the immune system. Persevere with your doctor. (pdoc or MD?)
