Hi, I responded to 20mg of Adderall taken 2x/day. I've also taken 30mg 2x/day. You should feel the effects soon after taking it. If you're not, however, then I'd speak w/ your doctor either about increasing the dosage or switching to another stimulant medication - maybe the Adderall XR version or Focalin (dexmethylphenidate - a refined formulation of *R*).
I do recall differences between Ritalin and Adderall. *R* seems to have a greater effect on focusing ability but makes me feel somewhat dull and flat. *A* on the other hand enhanced my concentration but made me feel wired, burned out and obsessive; it also elevated my mood more than *R*.
