Concerta and BID dosing:Is this common?

I started Ritalin 10mg recently at 3 pills at morning,2 in afternoon.I don,t like the"up then down"feeling the dosing creates,so we may try Concerta again.I tried it a while back and although the delivery is smoother,it seemed to fizzle out after 6-8 hrs.Is it common to do twice-a-day dosing effectively?
