I'm still majorly depressed with severe cognitive problems and at this point it's hard to tell what's causing what. Is it the depression? Is it the medication? A mixture of both?Should I go up on the lamictal, should I go down and risk getting even MORE cognitively impaired(not that thats possibe).I don't know what to do and Unfortunatly, I'm the one running the show cause HE doesn't know what to do.He just gives me whatever I ask for, improvises everytime I come in instead of really taking the time to study what's going on.I have appointments to see other doctors but what do I do in the meantime? The confusion is awful and he has no idea what the diagnoses is. If I say,I think it's some sort of psychotic depression and that's why I have such severe cognitive problems,he agrees. If I say it's ADD that's gotten exacerbated by the depression,he agrees with me and gives me a stimulant etc, etc, etc. If I'd ask for haldol,he'd probably give it to me.He tells me that lamictal doesn't cause cognitive problems. And how does he know this?because no patient of his has complained of cognitive problems.I guess he must see every single patient in the world.
