They say that the side effects subside. I had to go offof it. I could not stand those same feelings that you are talking about. I almost felt like I was walking around in a bubble. My hearing felt distant, insomnia, racing thoughts, I was forgetful, easily confused, agitated, wanted crawl out of my skin, etc... THe doctor agreed Lexapro just was not for me. I am back on Zoloft. Just started but no problems thus far.
Now all that being said it is important for me to say that I am extremly sensitive to side effects because I am so intune with my body. So if you can stick it through try it, if it trulyt bothers you then call your doctor to discuss what you should do. Good luck. Keep us posted. Are you taking it for depression or panic? Often times people with panic are more sensitive to the side effects. Maybe you cab take xanax or klonopin to counteract the side effects?

Question:
> I've been on Lexapro for about 8 days now. Today was the worst. I felt like my insides where all itchy (chest and throat especially) and to quote Christine "like I wanted to crawl out of my skin". It is the weirdest feeling ever and I hate it. I don't remember this feeling on Paxil--only that I felt nauseated for the first week. I don't feel anxious or panicky--just super odd. Does this pass, should I change med's, does my doctor need to know about this. What is acceptable in terms of side affects? Insight anyone?
