Be extremely selective who you tell.

For instance, I used to tell my mom I suffered from depression and she would simply say "we all do just snap out of it". This used to "piss" me off because it's not that easy when one has clinical depression.

I began to tell her I suffered from bad headaches. It's not a lie because when I am depressed I do have a head ache because of lack of oxygen to my brain from low movement.

Well she listened to the headache problem, because it's "a normal pain".

I would estimate out of 100 people I know I told 2 my real issues. The rest I'll use the headache routine. The headache routine got me off work to see the doc once a week, etc....

Many people are offended by my technique.

I learned it from a girl who told me she told her boyfriend she had headaches to restrain from sex when it was really depression.

The many people who dissagree with the headache approach don't have to live with what happenes when the truth is let out.

However, many don't have to live in a corporate dog eat dog world that the weak get eaten alive.

Many don't have friends that may accidently tell someone else and now the whole world knows I'm depresed.

The fact is, I'm a guy, and my tough guy friends are not sensitive enough to manage this information.

The fact I am getting better, now more and more people are learning the truth about me. Now they want to know what i did.

Test the waters, you know who you can and cannot trust with this delicate information.
