Starting an SSRI you've taken in the past question

Posted by theo on October 13, 2004, at 10:11:43

I've read quite a few posts stating that when re-trying an SSRI, especially Paxil, the results aren't as good.

If it's been a year versus 3 months, will that make a difference? Paxil was hands down the best SSRI for social anxiety for me. In the past I was on 20mg regular Paxil and stopped after a year because of libido problems.

My pdoc suggested I try a low dose, 10mg regular Paxil or 12.5 Paxil CR.

It's been at least a year since I quit Paxil and wondered if it would be worth re-trying.

The only other med I'm on now is 150mg Lamictal.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
