> Hi, I've recently been asking questions on here regarding Nardil/Parnate,as my psych is going to most likely be putting me on it in a week. Currently, I am only taking Ultram/tramadol at 50mgs TID, for pain and Ambien as well as Seroquel 25 mgs or Zyprexa 2.5 for sleep. I've been on this med for a long time. Incidentally, Ultram also helps quite a bit with my depression on it's own! More so than any AD with no side-effects! Though its effects have waned after 7 months of use.

Ultram, as far as I am aware has slight opiod properties, as well as low serotonin and norephinpherine binding and is somewhat similar to Effexor chemically. This in itself seems to makes it a big no no, to take with Nardil or Parnate.

I thought the serotinergic activity of the latter would be enough to increase the risk of serotonin syndrome into the "concerned" zone, if not "risky".
I think it would be prudent to understand the symptoms of serotonin syndrome, and have an idea how to manage it if it does occur.
