I knew I'd seen it somewhere. It's in the tramadol monograph. To quote, under the heading WARNING: "Use with MAO Inhibitors: Tramadol should be used with great caution in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors, because animal studies have shown increased deaths with combined administration."

Those deaths are caused by increased intercranial pressure and seizures.
