Hello,
I have heard that some in the US have had success with their psychiatrists prescribing them non US FDA approved medications such as Tianeptine (Stablon) where they would order it from a pharmacy over seas with a valid US prescription. I'd like to suggest this to my psychiatrists but I'm not sure the legality of it and how she'd respond. She seems pretty open thus far. My main problems are mild depression, anxiety and insomnia. She's already liberally prescribed me Ambien (which made me feel really crappy during the day, so I stopped taking it) and the by her suggestion Klonopin, which worked wonders for my anxiety but I'm discontinuing for unrelated reasons.
Anyone have any experience in this arena? How should I approach my Dr. on my next visit and suggest Stablon (Bring print outs of studies, etc?) and is it realistic to think that she'd be able to prescribe it even though it isn't approved in the US?
Thanks for any info.
