My doctor told me that it would enhance the anti-depressant effect with SSRI's. Effexor, of course, is slightly different. I did find, however, that Zyprexa did make me a little depressed and foggy. But I was taking it with Remeron, so maybe I was too tranquilized, not a good combination for me even though I have a lot of anxiety. I seemed out of it to other people and I don't think I recognized the extent of it myself. That was especially true when I was at 5 mg, not so much the case at 2.5, but when I took it at 2.5, I was on an SSRI, 200 of Zoloft, which may have overriden the depressing effects of the Zyprexa.

Why are you taking the Zyprexa? To control mania or for psychotic symptoms?
