Thanks Phillipa *hugs*.
Thats a terrible story that you just told me. My Mum has similar stories. She is also a registered nurse, but I think things are a bit different here in Australia. The Nurses are more involved with the drugs I think (correct me if I am wrong as I'm not 100% sure).
The problem was, my partner when he was taking me home from the Hospital, he took me to a chemist I dont usually go to. So they had no idea I was on Depakote. It was on the way home and I had that ice-pack thing on my jaw and all over my face which looked funny lol so I wanted to get home quick. I wish now that we went to my normal pharmacy.
Take care
Chris.
> Chris, I'm so sorry. I usually check with the pharmacist before I take any med. They know a lot more than the pdocs. When I worked in the hospital surgeons were the worst. To go to surgery all prior doctor's orders have to be discontinued. Then surgical orders are written. When the patient returns to the floor the surgeon is responsible for reordering meds and adding any postop ones pain, etc. We once had a man go psychotic because he was on 4mg of xanax and the surgeon forgot to order it again. He was in leather restraints. 24hours after restarting xanax he was fine. So I'm not surprised and you're lucky you found out when you did. Fondly, Phillipa
