I don't think the AD cause iron deficiency, but I know that iron deficiency can be secondary to hypothyroidism. Have you had TSH and T3 and T4 checked?

I periodically become iron deficient, but I think it is due to a hypofunctioning thyroid. But I think the hypofunctioning thyroid is due to a hypofunctioning HPA axis. My routine lab tests all look fine, but I still have hypothyroid symptoms and low cortisol symptoms. The glands (thyroid and adrenal) function fine, but the feedback is messed up and I can't mount a good response to stress.

In any case, ask you doc about checking thyroid.
