ADHD is a hard one because
a) There is tremendous hysteria about overdiagnosis/overprescribing
b) The most effective medications have a lot in common with recreational, abusable, drugs
c) The state of the art wrt medication has changed enormopusly in past five years

If you get an ADHD specialist who does research, publishes papers
he she is more likely to be aware of the start of the art thinking on ADHD medication.

You might be getting right drug in too small a dose.
Find another Doctor. Contact some of the noted ADHD experts and ask who they know in your area.
