DOXEPIN question: Is there a dosage at which it...

Posted by Colleen D. on August 30, 2005, at 21:01:37

becomes less sedating? My pdoc told me it was most sedating at lower dosages. This must be because it works more on norepinephrine at higher dosages, just like Effexor.(???) I use it only as a sleep aid at 25mg nightly and I wondered if I would be more sedated if I took 50mg. I've become restless at night (probably as a result of my stress level) and I would surely take 50mg on the rough nights if it would help me stay asleep all night.

SLS, Ed, chemist, Shawn or anyone else who might know, can you tell me more about the chemistry of this drug?

Thanks,
Colleen
