Sorry -- the combo worked at first and then I started not feeling well with it. Part of the problem is my reaction to the Xanax. The Effexor is working wonderfully, put I still have the panic attacks when I have to leave the house or deal with something unpleasant. The Xanax worked on the anxiety at first, until the Effexor dose was increased. Now Xanax just knocks me out leaves me with a terrible hangover feeling. I tend to get resistant to drugs really easy, or will start to develop some physical problem with them, my system is that touchy (I'm a Type II diabetic on top of everything else.) Anything upsets my system, and especially drugs.
I only use the Xanax for nights I'm having trouble falling asleep, and I switched from taking the Effexor at night to taking it in the morning. After he doubled the dose, I couldn't sleep, because the higher dose actually energizes me.
We'll see how it's going in another week or two.
