I don't have any specific info on this med, but I wanted to throw a few things out there in case they might help. I don't mean this to come off as rude or anything.
First, do you have a good pdoc that you can trust? Does s/he know your history and fears abt meds? Are you both in agreement that meds are the best option for you? Taking meds and their side effects can be very difficult for folks who don't have ED's, but even worse for those that do. You need someone who has compassion, understanding, and patience. A judgemental doc (not that yours necessarily is) who is trying to force you into something that you don't want just won't help.
Also, do you have a therapist? What does s/he have to say? Anything helpful on this topic?
And the other really important reason to have a pdoc and a t that you can trust is that they can be very helpful in being a "reality check." For example, what might seem like an out of control eating binge to you, might seem like normal eating to other people. If you are still below a healthy weight, gaining weight might just be a sign that you are getting better, not a problematic side effect. Are any of these a possibilty for you? They may not be. In that case, maybe they will help someone else who is reading.
I hope you find good support here and IRL.
Best,
EE
