> I have been struggling with getting a quality nights sleep for years. I take 2mgs klonopin at night for social anxiety. Though taking Lunesta on occation helps some it's not the answer and I'm beginning to wonder if benzo's keep you from getting to REM4 stage of sleep. I wonder if I'd do better by taking the dose in the morning? Any thoughts?
I'm currently taking Lunesta and Klonopin at night for sleep. I need to take the Klonopin at night for the relaxation effect. However FWIW, all benzo's can interfere with deep sleep. My sleep test showed I was getting almost no stage 3-4 sleep. I've tried other drugs that are supposed to help with deep sleep, like Neurontin and Gabitril, but they didn't seem to do much, plus the neurontin seemed to dumb me down in the daytime. My sleep doctor is supposed to recommend something else at my next visit. Xyrem is good for deep sleep, but many dr's are reluctant to presribe it.
good luck ~Jake
