Well, unfortunately I've had to discontinue my parnate due to just too many untoward side effects that weren't being balanced by benefit. I'm so happy it has been working well for Tyler and others out there, and wish it might have worked the same for me, but it just wasn't the case. The daily "rush then crash" routine was affecting my life pretty significantly, enough that I often couldn't be productive at all at home after work due to pure fatigue. I jacked the dose up to 80mg/day through week 3, but in the end just ended up being more anxious overall. I'm glad I have it a try, and would certainly recommend others consider it as well if circumstances warrant. It has worked wonders for me many, both for depression and social anxiety.
As I washout from the parnate, I'm finally giving daily Klonopin a chance for my social anxiety. I've used it prn for years for anticipated social events but was left with nothing on the "off" days when even minor social situations would inevitably occur. So starting last Thursday as I took my final dose of parnate, I started with Klonopin 1mg bid. I've always knows of its powerful benefit for social anxiety, but was worried the effect would wane with daily usage. But as so many on this board have stated, this just doesn't happen for most. The initial sedation (which was profound) is essentially gone yet the anxiolytic effect remains strong. I truly love Klonopin and what it does for me, and I hope it will continue to work indefinitely.
And who knows? Maybe a Nardil trial could be in my near future as well. My Pdoc and I agree this may be worth a shot eventually, but for now we're going with the Vitamin "K!"
