> hey there guys--- first time user hear----what a great site--i have read alot of e-mails from people who participate on this site and it's amazing the knowledge really the majority of the people have regarding different Med options--some of you need to get your psychology license, move to lousiana and become a psych., who can now legally write medication in this state--

>Welcome Chris,
I've got treatment resistant depression myself. I'm a 47 yr old male and have had depression/anxiety problems for about 25 yrs. I've tried all the meds ssri's, snri's, tca's, etc. Had some benefit w/ remeron and paxil. Also the benzo ativan has helped me a lot over the years.
A little over 2 mos. ago i started Parnate. I always need high doses of meds, so we started pretty aggressively. At day 10, on 60 mgs. all in morning Parnate kicked in and I have been feeling pretty darn good since then. The dose has been raised, and I am currently at 150 mgs., I have also read a lot of good articles supporting the efficacy of high dose Parnate. I take 100mgs a.m., 30 mgs. at noon, and 20 mgs. at 2-2:30. Any later than this causes severe insomnia for me.As you get to a higher dose you may experience insomnia as well. I recommend Ambien cr, Lunesta, or even Trazodone. I use Traz, and it works quite well for me. The others mentioned do not work for me.

> Anyway, i'd see about raising your dose-i was on 30mgs on day two, 40mgs. on day four, 50mgs. day six, and 60mgs. by day Nine. Now, that's probably way too much, too soon, for most people but it worked for me. I will stay at 150mgs. as long as possible, but my pdoc is up to date on maoi's and will let me go up to 200 mgs. if needed.Feel free to ask any questions. I wish you the very best!
