Here's the thing about all the personality disorders: they're less about a disease process, and much more about a pattern of behaviors. Drugs aren't going to do much about behaviors, beyond things like giving someone thorazine to stop the behavior of moving.
I'm sorry. I'm not in a good place to be interacting right now. I'll make this as quick and reasonable as I can:
Personality disorders are not so much biological as they are learned patterns of maladaptive behavior. Drugs address biological processes. Ergo, drugs aren't going to "fix" personality disorders.
What drugs can do is improve certain distinct symptoms arising from those behaviors. For instance, many times BPD responds to antipsychotics, because those drugs will reduce the mood swings enough that behavioral treatments can help more.
In your case, I'd recommend a couple of things: first, find another doctor. Find someone who's more interested in helping you reach more optimized functioning. If you're staying in bed all day, that's not exactly a listed symptom of NPD. It's usually related to depression. And the two can coexist.
And think about giving therapy another try. Find a good therapist, someone who's a good fit for you.
Good luck.
